Then there is the rainforest, which is best experienced in the fine Ulu Temburong National Park. Beyond these, there is a thrilling boat ride between the capital and Bangar, one of the highlights of Borneo. For those interested in beaches, there is one just outside the capital, and more beaches can be found at Muara, Serasa, Kuala Belait and Lumut Beach near Tutong, where watersports are popular.

There is a wide choice of accommodation in the capital and throughout Brunei including hotels from luxury to business to tourist class, guesthouses and serviced apartments. Bruneians love to eat out and there are many excellent restaurants in Brunei serving a wide variety of cuisines. Being an Islamic state, sale of alcohol is banned.
